1st session was terrific. I met everyone, played ENDLESS hours of fantastic ultimate frisbee with one of my counselors Adam [He's won TWO National Ultimate Frisbee Championships!], learned how to play Camo with another stupendous counselor, Elliot [He unicycles. Yeah. I know], developed Team Square Street [loosely based on both 4-Square and Calvin Ball], had twin day which was turned into triplet day with Moira, Elliot, and I [we wore our green jumpsuits], mastered Josh's infamous Yitzeerah dance, and took part in numerous other amazing camp activities. Group 4 had two splendid counselors: Maddy and Betsy. [Or as Jaromir calls her, Besty]. Then Moira left for Alaska and I lost
2nd session came and with it brought more ultimate frisbee fanatics. Woot! I didn't have to learn a new group number and was put in Group 4 yet again, this time with two more delightful counselors: Rachel and Kelly. However, Group 4 is a boring name. So Team Jazzy Fresh was formed! The rest of camp followed suit soon after and Group 1 became Tofurkey, Group 2 was Team Wiggity Wack, and Group 3=The Turkey Dogs. [Jazzy Fresh triumphs over all of those, obviously]. This session brought SKG's clown story, the
And hey! Take a gander at all the photos I took of Bogrim 2008. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=29704&l=7fb84&id=558382584.
So even though the last day of camp was basically one of the most depressing days of my life, I was mildly cheered up by the Mallards game on Saturday. Oh gosh. Let me tell you about this game. Dana works at Maynards, which is a concession stand right behind the home plate bleacher area and she got me 3 free tickets. Ashley and my father came with me. The Mallards were playing the Eau Claire Express [we couldn't figure out what in the world their mascot was. A train?]. In the 1st inning, the Express got FIVE RUNS. All three of us were thoroughly hot, sticky, and sad by this time so we left our seats, got some onion rings, and chatted with Dana for a while. 5th inning: Express gets NINE RUNS. We give up on the game entirely and decide to throw around the frisbee [Seeing as I never leave home without it]. Finally the horrendous game ends with the score 19-0. But I was cheered up because Dana got us free ice cream that came in mini plastic Mallards baseball caps! I washed mine and plan to keep it forever.
Another thing: West High. I'm freaked out. But I plan on joining a couple of clubs. They include Ultimate Frisbee [Big Surprise], Calvin Ball, Harry Potter [I DESPERATELY hope they have one], and basically anything else that sounds like Alessandra would enjoy.
LAST THING! I promise. I go to Phantom Lake for a week from the 10th-16th. My Aunt Elaine and cousins Lia, Lisa, and Gina are coming on Wednesday. If it appeals to you to hang out with me, get in touch with me quick!
